SATA-733 Backplane Specications
A-1 Overview
The SATA backplane supports four SATA drives. The SATA drive's LED connec-
tor on the SATA backplane is JP26. There are also two power connectors on the
backplane, and both connectors should be connected. Do not cascade the SATA
backplane. Refer to the following table for jumper settings.
Introduction to the SATA-733 Backplane
The SATA-733 backplane has been designed to utilize the most up-to-date technol-
ogy available, providing your system with reliable, high-quality performance.
This manual reects SATA-733 Revision 3.00, the most current release available at
the time of publication. Always refer to the Supermicro Web site at www.supermicro.
com for the latest updates, compatible parts and supported congurations.
Important! Use extreme caution when working around the Serial
ATA (SATA) backplane. Do not touch the backplane with any metal
objects and make sure that no ribbon cables touch the backplane
or obstruct the airow holes in the SATA backplane. All SATA drive
carriers must remain in the drive bays to promoste proper airow.
